Conditions of participation 

Participation in the European Championship Prediction Game of Burchard GmbH, hereinafter referred to as the operator or organizer, is free of charge and is governed exclusively by these conditions of participation.

The European Football Championship 2024 will take place from 14 June 2024 to 14 July 2024 with 24 teams and 51 matches. Every participant in the prediction game can submit their own predictions online for the final results of these matches. The aim is to predict the results of all the matches as accurately as possible and collect as many points as possible.

Participation

To take part in the prediction game, a one-off free registration is required. To do this, the online form must be completed and submitted. Registration is still possible after the start of the European Championship. In order to successfully save a bet for a match, it must be entered before the official start of the match. After the official start of the match, the betting system closes automatically and no further bets can be saved - even if the start of the match is delayed. Only one submitted entry per participant may take part in the betting game. It is strictly forbidden to use multiple e-mail addresses or multiple profiles to increase the chances of winning. Duplicate registrations will not be taken into account when awarding prizes and may result in disqualification from the competition. The operator cannot be held responsible for late or incomplete entries. Participation in the prediction game is free of charge.

Points awarded for predictions and bonus questions 

The participant receives four points for an exactly correctly predicted match result. The participant receives three points for predicting the correct tendency and the correct goal difference at the same time. If the participant correctly predicts the tendency of a match, they receive two points. If neither the result nor the tendency is correct, the participant receives zero points. The officially determined result after the entire playing time (= 90 minutes + extra time including penalty shoot-out) is decisive for the evaluation. When scoring the bonus questions, a distinction is only made between "correct" and "incorrect". Bonus questions can only be answered up to the end time defined in the prediction game.

Eligible participants

Eligible participants are natural persons who are resident in Europe and have reached the age of 16. Participation is not restricted to customers of the organizer and is not dependent on the purchase of goods or services. If a participant has limited legal capacity, the consent of their legal representative is required. All persons involved in the design and implementation of the betting game and employees of the operator as well as their family members are eligible to participate - but are not eligible to win. In addition, the operator reserves the right to exclude persons from participation at its own discretion if there are justified reasons, for example (a) in the event of manipulation in connection with access to or execution of the Prediction Game, (b) in the event of violations of these Terms and Conditions of Participation, (c) in the event of unfair conduct or (d) in the event of false or misleading information in connection with participation in the Prediction Game. 

Winning, notification and transmission of the prize 

The following prizes will be awarded: 

Win 1: Voucher worth €1000
Win 2: Voucher worth €500
Win 3: Voucher worth €300 

 The prizes will be awarded to the participants who have scored the most points in the individual ranking in the prediction game and are not excluded from participating in the prediction game. If several players have achieved the same maximum number of points, the prizes will be awarded in a random draw among the participants concerned.

Creating a betting community is only possible until 13.06.2024. After this date, a group must consist of three or more players to enable a fair group comparison. Groups consisting of only one or two members will not be considered for the awarding of prizes and will be removed from the group ranking list.

The winners of the prediction game will be informed of the prize promptly via a separate e-mail.

The prize will only be handed over to the winner or to the legal representative of the underage winner. It is not possible to exchange, collect or pay out the prize in cash. 

The operator will bear any costs incurred for shipping the prize. Any additional costs associated with claiming the prize shall be borne by the winner. The winner is responsible for any taxation of the prize. 

If the winner does not respond after two requests within a period of 3 weeks, the prize may be transferred to another participant. 

Termination of the prediction game 

The organizer expressly reserves the right to terminate the prediction game without prior notice and without giving reasons. This applies in particular to any reasons that would disrupt or prevent the prediction game from running as planned.

Data protection 

Participation in the competition requires the provision of personal data. The participant assures that the personal information provided by him/her, in particular first name, surname and e-mail address, is true and correct.

The organizer points out that all personal data of the participant will neither be passed on to third parties nor made available to them for use without consent.  

An exception to this is the company Happy Contests GmbH, which is commissioned to run the prediction game and which must collect, store and use the data for the purpose of running the competition. 

In the event of a win, the winner agrees to the publication of their name and place of residence in the advertising media used by the organizer. This includes the announcement of the winner on the operator's website and its social media platforms. 

The participant can revoke their declared consent at any time. The revocation must be sent in writing to the contact details of the organizer given in the imprint area of the betting game. After revocation of consent, the participant's personal data collected and stored will be deleted immediately.

Applicable law 

Questions or complaints in connection with the Prediction Game should be addressed to the operator. Contact details can be found in the legal notice section of the Prediction Game. 

The operator's Prediction Game is subject exclusively to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Legal recourse is excluded. 

Salvatory clause 

Should any provision of these terms and conditions of participation be or become invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions of participation. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a legally permissible provision that comes closest to the economic intent and purpose expressed in the invalid provision.
